I Love My Mum

Mum a title just above The Queen!

Or is the word I love my Mum? Yes, I know that's three words but to all of us one word cannot sum up anything about our Mums' now can it? Mum is a simple and easy word to write and pronounce but to hard to define what they mean for us, it can take us a whole life.                        

They know everything, can cook anything, and let's face facts, can juggle more things than the world best, well... Juggler! But, how do they do this??? Probably, they have supernatural powers given to them by aliens, I guess. What could be a better answer??
Anyway, once a year it's time to celebrate Mum!! and her "superpowers." But how do we do this??? By CAKE of course!!!! This is the best way to sweeten their lives, after giving them hugs and kisses...not chocolates but real kisses.
We have been toiling away trying to find the best of the best gifts to our Mums. Well for me, it has to say Mum all over it, and whilst we can never express our full gratitude  to our Mums, it should try. I mean, the reality is that even if you were able to give your Mum an award for being the best Mum,  she may not be there to accept it because she would be doing something far more Important for you!!

How a Cake is Born

 Hello World!
Cakes and sweet yummyness is what we do here and I thought it would be interesting to show how much work goes into one of our products. What better way to do this than in pictures, since they say more than thousand words...

Guru Daniel

    The first stage is when our chief cake Guru gets a call with a brief on a cake. Then, Vicenzo and Anna's magic and creativity enter into action to create the most crazy customer request to offer them the most amazing and unique cakes... for their love ones.

    Once Guru Daniel has spoken with Vincenzo and explained the customer requirements, the work begins on the product. This cake will be for a Liverpool Fan! A football pitch no less and a player? Of course, how you can forget him if he is the most essential part of it, or not??

The Grass is made err I mean grown don't I? and watered by Vicenzo to get a perfect field.

Then, the football ball is designed, uffs I mean inflated, until it gets the perfect shape to insert the Liverpool image, which is the most important part of the cake for the birthday guy!!!  

Our good-looking player is receiving his last massage to prepare him to the game... or be devoured at the birthday party? ...poor player

Our dear Vicenzo is adding extra support to our field, as a result, we can have a field strong enough to resist earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, especially naughty kids...

Of course, we cannot forget the sponsors names in the field...a field without sponsors won't be interesting and colorful :)

How we can forget our birthday guy's name and age, as well as happy birthday wishes.
It is more complicated than it looks, it needs a lot of creativity and hard work but our bakers Anna and Vicenzo love their job, but the most important thing they love is people enjoying their cakes... which are delicious... well more than delicious I do not have words to describe them.  

Too much work to eat it in just five minutes... well pictures and memories last forever. These are good reasons to spend a bunch of time designing cakes... of course, and the satisfaction with your job!!

The New Intern: Cakes' Predator

Hello cakes’ lovers and followers my name is Maria but my friends called me Betty. I am the new intern at Family Cakes Company and I am from Mexico but move to Wisconsin, the state with the most beautiful weather in the US.

I go to St. Norbert College in Wisconsin and study Global Business and Economics. I came to study in London as a “required” for my program…good excuse, is it not? I already have 2 months living in London and I love it. If I would be rich, I would love to live here for the rest of my life.

I feel that I will love my internship because I love the smell of the place and the people who work here look to be very cool. Also, I am a cakes’ lover and hopefully I can get some free cakes, but not too many because instead of climbing the stairs, I will round as a beach ball. I could eat a whole cake by myself and I consider myself as a cakes’ predator. Eating free cakes is not my only expectation, I also expect to learn transferable skills that I can use for my future career and get a better understand of the operation and management of business in London, with the help of my boss Daniel.
