It's Opposite Day Folks!!

Today was a day of opposites here at The Family Cake Company. While Anna was hard at work constructing her Monster High themed birthday cake for Alexandra’s 6^th birthday, Vincenzo was working at the speed of light preparing a cake for the birthday of Portsmouth F.C. striker Ryan Bird. 

Have a look at the simultaneous progress of Anna and Vincenzo as they design the two opposite cakes.

                           

While Anna quietly worked, Vincenzo was bantering on about how Portsmouth F.C. was crummy at football and how his favorite team was so much better; it was quite hilarious if you ask me.

                          

Anna and Vincenzo diligently focus on the details that go into their cakes, Anna also made a set of cupcakes to go with the Monster High themed cake.

As for me, Anna and Vincenzo offered to bake me a chocolate cake to take home for the weekend. I tried to prevent my eyes from becoming wide and my tongue from watering while I responded but it was to no avail. Chocolate is my weakness so I am uber-excited to be taking home a chocolate mousse cake and I’m sure my roommates will be too.

It is the transition period between Halloween and The Christmas Season, but that doesn’t mean Anna hasn’t been busy on a themed cake for a holiday. Thanks to a failed terrorist plot on our country over 400 years ago, we celebrated Guy Fawkes Day on Tuesday, and what’s better to go along with fire than some cake! Guy may have failed to light the gunpowder under the House of Lords back in the day, but it doesn’t mean we cant light up some candles for the occasion nowadays! What's Happening at Family Cakes?

Good day cake eaters! It’s intern John here to give you all the sweet and savory details going on here at Family Cakes. Anna and Vincenzo are hard at work on a 3 layer spooky cake complete with spiders and ghosts, BOO! Do not fear, because Anna and Vincenzo are set to transition the Christmas season full of cheer! Christmas is Vincenzo’s favorite season to bake for because it means cooking for family, how sweet of him :). Even sweeter, he baked for me the famed cheesecake today, which was fine and dandy until he labeled it, “The American Boy” (head shakes). No worries though, all was forgotten about his discriminatory label after I looked inside the box at the masterpiece. My mouth has been watering having it next to me all day at work, I can't wait to try it. Check it out for yourself along with Vincenzo and Anna assembling the pieces to the frightening Halloween Cake!
