A little bit of this a little bit of that....

Its a strange one for us this week in the FCC kitchen, Daniel and Vincenzo are away so its the girls running the show. We haven't quite gone as far as painting everything pink but it is alot quieter without the boys around. So I thought I would share some photo's of things we've been creating over the last few weeks that I haven't had the chance to share with you yet.

We had a toffee apple day on Friday, we only needed 13 but the toffee wouldn't come together properly (we made 3 batches in total) lovely former home economics teacher Angela came to help, We got their in the end and they looked delicious!

Our lovely Ana's partner had a birthday and the lucky fishing fan got this wonder made for him, with love of course!

We also said thank you to a regular corporate client of ours the family cake way, with cake!

We all showed off our best Gun poses and discussed our favorite Bond whilst creating this Pussy Galore cake for a lady's first anniversary in her new management post.

Vincenzo created this deliciously fruity number for a customers BBQ, I'd skip a burger to make room for a slice of this scrumptiousness!

Oh and there was biscuits

and chocolate dipped strawberries which got us covered in chocolate, not so bad really!

So as you can see its been eclectic and busy in the FCC kitchen the past couple of weeks, Hope you've enjoyed the post today thanks for taking a look and hope the interchangeable weathers not getting you down. Let us know what you liked the look of the most.

Take care from all @ FCC!

Wedding Bells ring again.....

Saturday saw myself and Daniel driving at the slowest speeds legally we could manage all the way down to beautiful sunny green cobham in kent. We had a 6 sectioned cake over 3 tiers sitting comfortably in our refridgerated unit.Every gentle brake at the lights had our shoulders by our ears, I wanted to run over the hooded teenager who ran in front of our van for his ball without checking but alas Daniel did not agree and with some gentle braking we managed to save child and cake, Dan your the hero. We arrived safely with our load and with enough time to peruse the beautiful scenery and grounds of cobham hall, gorgeous.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here, let me show you how we got to the end point. Firstly we took some sponges, 6 of them in total and cut them in half so now we have 12 delicious slices of vanilla sponge laying organised around the kitchen. Next we filled it with bitter chocolate butter cream and studded the whole lots with whole fresh blackberries.
Then anna got to have lots of fun squishing the blackberries into place.

Once we replaced all the lids we had a row of deliciousness ready for butter creaming, dowl setting and coverpasting.

So then came the hard part. The biggest fault involved in baking is nothing can be done really untill the day before, freshness being the key to all good cakes. So poor anna was surrounded by florists, myself daniel and vincenzo Friday while she sat patiently and piped the dot design details on all 6 cakes. Her hand was claw shaped and in serious need of rest by the end of the 5 hour stint of sitting and piping, piping and sitting. Honestly she couldn't stop once she started the poor girl. It was also interesting putting the florals together as you had Daniels vision being brought to life by a man and a pair of saccuteurs whilst Vincenzo watched hawk like over every touch of the cake. Here are the pictures that prove the chaos.

But when the end product looks this good good the hard work gets forgotten about!
Hope you enjoyed todays blog thanks for taking a look.

Cake days, happy days...happy staff!

So its a boring Monday afternoon, your craving some excitement, some sugar a nice cup of tea and a natter. The doors to your office burst open and in come a 50's glamour puss pink polka dot pinny and a tray of scrumptiousness containing all that's in this photo.

Sounding to good to be true, OK so the 50's glamour puss is not our doing but the cakes are, we can supply all this delicious mood lifting bakedness directly to your office (or home for a lovely afternoon coffee).

This dream comes true monthly for one of our corporate clients whom we help to facilitate a cake day. They get in touch and lets us know what day they would like it and roughly what there budget is. We run off and see whats in season, what specials we are doing and put a list together for them with some varying products to keep everyone excited and then a couple of the offices favorites that we include each month. They come back and tell us if there's anything they would like to add or remove and then hey presto a week later they all sit down together and munch themselves into a sugary happiness. I can't help but think they must be a fairly happy office, all sharing cakes and tea's nattering about whats ahead for the month both personally and business like.

So if the jealously is starting to filter in have a chat around the office, I can't think of anyone who would turn down freshly baked cakes, and start putting together your own cakes days. Just choose a day of the month that would be suitable (I think a few days before payday when everyones cutting back on treats till the next influx of cash is a good option) come up witha reasonable budget let us know and we'll do the rest. I look forward to hearing from lot's of hungry offices all over London.

A Happy and Deliscious Friday All!

It has been very busy in the kitchen this week. We have a lovely new client whom have had us busy with Spiderman cakes and fruit decorated scrumptiousness early in the week. Wimbledon specials went crazy from Wednesday onwards I was sticking marzipan strawberry's to every cupcake I could find in haste to get a last minute order for 60 ready on Thursday.

We had a call from a lovely lady on Wednesday who needed cakes for her twin boys the next day she was open to idea's but wanted to base it around some pictures of cute dinosaurs, well I found the imagery for her and then designed these beauties which Anna executed in her normal fine artistic way. I think they are really cute.

Vincenzo got into a fruit and chocolate frenzy this week, I really found it hard not to stick my finger right in the center of these cakes but albeit I stayed professional (by sitting on my hands all afternoon)!

Mouth watering yet? Chocolate Biscuits not cutting it make sure you check in on Monday to hear more about our office cake days....and I'll leave you with a couple of teaser photo's of some decorations we are getting ready for a cake next week that is going to be fan-tab-ulous!

Have a great weekend all from us all @ The Family Cake Company!
